People who work with children and protected adults on a regular basis are required to join the PVG Scheme; their membership records will be automatically updated with any new vetting information. If the applicant changes employer, the new employer can obtain a Scheme Record Update.
Types of Disclosure Record Available
When a person applies to join the PVG Scheme for the first time, there are two types of disclosure records available:
- The Scheme Record
- The Scheme Membership Statement
The Scheme Record is designed for use by organisations when asking an individual who does (or is being recruited to do) regulated work for them to join the PVG Scheme for the first time. The organisation must be a registered body or use an “umbrella body” to act as a registered body on their behalf. Alba Childcare Agency is registered as an umbrella body.
The Scheme Membership Statement is designed for personal employers asking an individual to do regulated work for them or for pre-emptive use by individuals who intend to do regulated work at some point in the future. As it is for sharing with personal employers, it does not contain vetting information.
Members of the PVG Scheme can use The Scheme Record Update
The Scheme Record Update is designed to be a quicker, cheaper and simpler check for organisations recruiting individuals who are already PVG Scheme members. The Scheme Record Update does not include any vetting information.
If you’re an employer, you don’t have to be registered with Disclosure Scotland to use their disclosure service. You can use another registered company, also known as an ‘umbrella company’, to process your staff disclosures. Alba Childcare Agency is a registered company who can process staff disclosures for you.
If you would like us to act on your behalf, you will need to read the code of practice and accept this as part of the Alba Childcare Agency contract terms along with our secure handling of disclosure information and recruitment of ex-offenders policy.
